Elmhurst Art Museum’s The
Art of Ferrella Gala
A Successful Evening to Remember!
Elmhurst, IL – A radiant
ballroom adorned in a sea of sapphire blue and silver was the
backdrop for the recent Elmhurst Art Museum gala benefit held on
Friday, October 20, at the Drury Lane Oak Brook. The internationally
renowned multi-media artist, Andre Ferrella chose benefit co-chair
Mimi Marccuci to photograph and used her image to create a work of
digital art during the cocktail hour before guests’ very eyes. This
event highlight became one of Ferrella’s newest ‘Soul Portraits’ to
share among guests. Notable circus art performers, Forms in Motion,
also entertained onlookers with their unique acrobatic
configurations and stunts throughout the hour. The Art of Ferrella
benefit, celebrating the museum’s newest exhibition entitled Andre
Ferrella: Artist of the Spirit, which closes on January 7, raised
$120,000 in support of the museum’s exhibition and education
efforts.
Museum Board Members, James C. Clark
and Mimi Marcucci chaired the event and headed a committee of
twenty-three museum advocates. Graphic Converting, Inc., De Stefano
and Partners, Morgan Stanley - MPW Group, Ray and Sally Allen and
Bob and Marcia Goltermann generously underwrote the festivity. Other
key sponsors included James McHugh Construction Co., Don Alexander
Investments, Inc., Gordon Bednorz, and Mark Tebbe & Family.
Important in kind support was also received from M&M Special Events
Co., Production Plus, Kondziolka Takatsuki Design, KT Colors, Fess
Parker Winery & Vineyard and Amy Braswell Photography.
D. Neil Bremer, the museum’s
Executive Director, welcomed the 330 guests and thanked event
sponsors and attendees for their support of the museum. In addition
to the performance art experience demonstrated and taped to air in
November on local Comcast cable access, the contemporary dinner was
highlighted by a special thank you from the museum when each guest
received their own miniature ‘Spirit Box’ as a remembrance of
Ferrella’s artwork.
The fundraiser also included a live
auction, cash raffle and entertainment by the Marshall Vente Band.
The fortunate raffle winners from Elmhurst were Byron Spencer and
Julia and Ken Wegner, and James Fotopoulos of Palos Heights. For
