Elmhurst Art Museum’s Upcoming Fall/Winter Programs
Educational Opportunities for the Entire Family!
October 27 – February 17, 2007
ELMHURST, IL - The Elmhurst
Art Museum offers educational programs for the entire family for its
upcoming exhibitions featuring the works of Chicago artists Nicole
Gordon, Bloomington, Illinois sculptor Gary Justis from October 27
through February 17, 2007 and also Chicago artist Nicholas Sistler
from November 3 through January 20, 2008.
Ms. Gordon’s exuberant and
politically relevant paintings put a fresh spin on reoccurring
medieval and renaissance scenes while Mr. Justis’s large scale
sculpture of metal, cloth, and wood incorporate playful shapes. Mr.
Sistler’s small scale gouache paintings present a dynamic palette
with extreme angles. Measuring only a few inches in actual size,
ordinary domestic scenes are transformed into animated narratives.
The showings of these exhibitions are also accompanied by a display
of Elmhurst Art Museum’s own art collection in its third gallery
space. Additional museum programs are also listed that take place
during these special exhibitions.
