Hebru Brantley: Forced Field

The Elmhurst Art Museum is excited to announce a solo show of new work by the Chicago artist Hebru Brantley. A native of the city’s Bronzeville neighborhood, Brantley is known for his public art commissions such as Chi Boy on S. Wabash and an eight-panel mural at the McCormick Place CTA Green Line station. His work is influenced by an array of pop culture icons, comic book heroes, Japanese anime, and street art pioneers Jean-Michel Basquiat, KAWS and Keith Haring. Read More ›

They will bloom without you

November 18, 2017 - January 7, 2018

The Chicago-based artist Alex Chitty created a site-specific exhibition in the McCormick House designed by Mies van der Rohe. They will bloom without you is a reference to Chitty’s observations of flowers, in particular lilies, and how their daily bloom takes place independent of an audience. The lilies also gesture toward the designer and architect Lilly Reich who collaborated with Mies van der Rohe, but is often omitted from the credits of their collaborations.  Read More ›

The Elmhurst Artist's Guild (EAG) will host TRANSMOGRIFICATIONa group show featuring artwork by the Chicago Women’s Caucus for Art, November 4  through December 14, 2017. A free opening reception will be held on Friday, November 10th from 7:00 to 9:00pm. Wesley R. Baker: American Images

The Elmhurst Artists’ Guild is pleased to announce, “American Images”, an exhibition featuring the paintings of Wesley R. Baker, to be held in the Elmhurst Artists’ Guild Gallery in the Elmhurst Art Museum.
