The Chicago-based artist Alex Chitty will exhibit a site-specific exhibition in the McCormick House designed by Mies van der Rohe. They will bloom without you is a reference to Chitty’s observations of flowers, in particular lilies, and how their daily bloom takes place independent of an audience. The lilies also gesture toward the designer and architect Lilly Reich who collaborated with Mies van der Rohe, but is often omitted from the credits of their collaborations.  Read More ›

Paula Crown, Michelle Grabner, Tony Tasset, and James Welling

January 20 - March 18

This group show will feature new sculpture by Michelle Grabner along with works by Paula Crown, Tony Tasset, and James Welling. The exhibition in Mies van der Rohe’s McCormick House will include a selection of work that celebrates the formal languages that inhabit domestic structures. Materiality, repetition, color and spatial order will be featured and minimally distributed throughout the volumes of the McCormick House living space. Read More ›
