District 205 Student Art Exhibition

This pop-up exhibition will feature artwork by local students from District 205, and will take place Saturday, May 4th - Sunday, May 5th. Artists from both the elementary and middle schools will showcase their work from the 2018-2019 school year.  Admission is free this weekend, so come enjoy the exhibition and visit the museum's booth at Art in Wilder Park for an art activity. With a Capital P: Selections by Six Painters

The title With a Capital P is a reference to an approach that doesn’t always use paint or brush. Curated by six distinguished local painters Leslie Baum, Magalie Guérin, José Lerma, Nancy Mladenoff, Suellen Rocca, and Kay Rosen, the group exhibition consists of six rooms, each using different criteria to interpret artistic approaches and a wide-ranging conversation about process and media by artists based in the Midwest and beyond. Luftwerk: Parallel Perspectives

Luftwerk: Parallel Perspectives is a site-specific exhibition that uses color and light interventions to activate and interpret the McCormick House, designed by Mies van der Rohe. The installation by Luftwerk—the Chicago-based artistic collaborative of Petra Bachmaier and Sean Gallero—heightens the senses and alters perception while celebrating the use of geometry in the mid-Century prefab prototype.  Read More ›
